Lana & Perry’s wedding at Ufton Court in Reading, Berkshire was a brilliant summer wedding, with beautiful weather, plenty of time for photography and an incredible sunset to finish the day.

As a Basingstoke-based wedding photographer, I photograph weddings throughout Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey, and Ufton Court is a fantastic venue for couples who want a relaxed wedding with plenty of opportunities for beautiful photographs.

A Summer Wedding at Ufton Court

It was a particularly hot summer's day for Lana & Perry’s wedding, which made the most of Ufton Court's beautiful grounds and outdoor spaces.

Rather than rushing through the photographs, we deliberately allowed plenty of time for portraits throughout the day. Having that extra time meant we could explore different areas of the venue and create a collection of images that felt varied and considered.

While my style is predominantly natural and documentary wedding photography, I also love taking the opportunity to create something more dramatic when the conditions and timeline allow.

The Bride & Groom Portrait

One of the standout images from Lana & Perry’s wedding was their epic Bride & Groom portrait.

We took the time to carefully create the photograph rather than simply grabbing a quick couple portrait between parts of the day. Ufton Court provided the perfect setting, allowing us to use the architecture and surroundings to create something with a real sense of occasion.

It's one of the reasons I always encourage couples to allow a little time for portraits. You don't need to spend hours away from your guests, but giving your photographer some breathing room can make a huge difference to the images.

Chasing the Sunset

The evening gave us another incredible opportunity when the sun began to set.

Ufton Court's grounds are ideal for making the most of evening light, and Lana & Perry's sunset provided some beautiful conditions for their final portraits.

There's something particularly special about taking a few minutes together during golden hour. The pace of the wedding has usually slowed down, the light becomes softer and it gives couples a chance to step away from the celebrations for a moment.

For Lana & Perry, the combination of the warm summer evening and incredible sunset made a perfect end to their wedding photography.
