Joelah & Alex’s Ufton Court Wedding | Berkshire Wedding Photographer

Joelah & Alex’s wedding was a lovely combination of traditional and relaxed. The day began with Joelah getting ready at her family home, followed by a church ceremony before everyone headed to Ufton Court in Reading to continue the celebrations.

As a Basingstoke wedding photographer, I cover weddings throughout Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey, and Ufton Court is one of the local venues that works particularly well for my natural, documentary style.

From the Family Home to the Church

There’s something special about starting a wedding day at the family home. It gives the morning a much more personal feel and provides an opportunity to photograph all those little moments before the main celebrations begin.

Joelah’s preparations were followed by the church ceremony, where the atmosphere naturally shifted from the anticipation of the morning to the excitement of finally becoming husband and wife.

Church weddings also offer plenty of opportunities for candid photography. From guests arriving and catching up with each other to the ceremony itself and the celebrations immediately afterwards, there are moments happening constantly.

Wedding Reception at Ufton Court

After the ceremony, the celebrations continued at Ufton Court, a beautiful wedding venue near Reading in Berkshire.

The venue's historic character and surrounding countryside make it a great location for wedding photography. There are plenty of different areas to explore, allowing for a mixture of candid photographs, group shots and more relaxed portraits of the couple.

I always try to make couple portraits a small part of the day rather than taking couples away from their guests for a long period. A few minutes in the right location is often all that's needed to create some beautiful photographs.

Documentary Wedding Photography in Berkshire

My style is relaxed, natural and documentary-led. Rather than filling the day with posed photographs, I concentrate on capturing the people, atmosphere and moments that make each wedding unique.

For me, the best wedding photographs aren't always the ones that have been carefully planned. They're often the photographs of people laughing, friends catching up, family members reacting to the ceremony and all the little moments that happen in between.

Joelah & Alex’s day was a great example of how a wedding can move between several different settings while still feeling like one complete story — from getting ready at home, to the church ceremony and finally the celebrations at Ufton Court.

If you're planning a wedding at Ufton Court, I'm a Berkshire wedding photographer based in Basingstoke, covering weddings across Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey.
