Christina & Luke’s wedding at The Wellington Arms in Hook, Hampshire was a wonderful celebration and another fantastic example of why this local venue is such a great choice for a wedding.

Located just outside Basingstoke, The Wellington Arms offers a relaxed setting with plenty of character and a variety of spaces for both the wedding celebrations and photography.

As a Basingstoke-based wedding photographer, I regularly photograph weddings across Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey, making The Wellington Arms a particularly convenient local venue for me to work at.

Having the ceremony, reception and celebrations all at The Wellington Arms means the wedding day can flow naturally from one part to the next.

It also gives plenty of opportunities for photographs throughout the day without couples and their guests having to spend time travelling between locations.

My style is predominantly natural and documentary wedding photography. Rather than filling the day with posed photographs, I focus on capturing genuine moments as they happen — from the excitement of the ceremony through to the celebrations with friends and family.

I'll provide some gentle direction when it's needed, particularly for family photographs and couple portraits, while keeping the rest of the day as natural as possible.

That means capturing the big moments alongside all the smaller interactions that can easily be missed — guests catching up, reactions during the ceremony, laughter during the reception and the atmosphere of the evening celebrations.

I'll also make time for some relaxed portraits of the couple. These don't need to take up a large part of the wedding day, but they provide an opportunity to create some beautiful, more considered images while giving couples a few minutes together.
