Becca & Max’s wedding at Ufton Court in Reading, Berkshire was a wonderful day filled with relaxed celebrations, beautiful surroundings and plenty of opportunities for natural wedding photography.

Ufton Court is a fantastic venue for a wedding, combining historic character with beautiful outdoor spaces. As a Basingstoke-based wedding photographer, I regularly photograph weddings across Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey, and it's always great to return to a venue with so much variety.

A Relaxed Wedding at Ufton Court

One of the things that makes Ufton Court such a great wedding venue is the variety of spaces available throughout the day. From the historic buildings and courtyard to the surrounding grounds, there are plenty of opportunities for photographs without needing to leave the venue.

My approach is predominantly documentary wedding photography, allowing the day to unfold naturally while I capture the moments happening around me.

Rather than spending hours taking posed photographs, I prefer to keep things relaxed. I'll guide couples through a small number of portraits and organise the essential family photographs, but the majority of the day is about capturing genuine interactions and the atmosphere of the wedding.

Natural Wedding Photography in Berkshire

For me, wedding photography is about telling the story of the day as it really happened.

The photographs don't need to be perfectly posed to be meaningful. Often, it's the smaller moments that become some of the most memorable images — guests laughing together, family and friends enjoying the reception, reactions during the speeches and everything that happens in between.

Ufton Court provides a great backdrop for this style of photography, with plenty of natural light, character and countryside surroundings to work with.
