Aleisha & George’s wedding at Ufton Court in Reading, Berkshire was everything you could want from a summer wedding — warm weather, a relaxed atmosphere, a beautiful outdoor ceremony and an incredible sunset to finish the day.

As a Basingstoke-based wedding photographer, I photograph weddings across Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey, and Ufton Court is a fantastic setting for a relaxed, natural style of wedding photography.

A Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony

One of the highlights of Aleisha & George’s day was their outdoor wedding ceremony in the courtyard at Ufton Court.

With the warm summer weather and historic surroundings of the venue, it created a beautiful setting for the ceremony. Outdoor ceremonies also provide plenty of opportunities to capture the atmosphere of the day, from guests arriving and settling in to the reactions of Aleisha and George as they saw each other for the first time.

A Relaxed Summer Wedding

The rest of the day had a wonderfully relaxed feel. The warm weather meant everyone could make the most of the outdoor spaces at Ufton Court, with plenty of time to enjoy the celebrations with friends and family.

My approach to wedding photography is natural and documentary-led, so rather than directing the day, I focus on capturing those genuine interactions and moments as they happen.

The speeches were a particularly memorable part of the day, with plenty of emotion and some lovely reactions from Aleisha, George and their guests.

An Incredible Sunset

The day finished with what was easily one of the highlights from a photography point of view — an amazing summer sunset.

Ufton Court's surrounding grounds provided the perfect setting to make the most of the evening light. Sunset portraits are one of my favourite parts of a wedding day because they give couples a chance to step away from the celebrations for a few minutes while creating something a little different from the photographs taken earlier in the day.

The combination of the warm summer evening, beautiful light and relaxed atmosphere made for a fantastic end to Aleisha & George’s wedding.
